We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Epic Clinical Analyst/Project Coordinator to work in our Care Systems department located in downtown St. Paul. This person is responsible for providing specific technical expertise to the project team which could include support, build and reporting to accomplish project objectives. The clinical analyst may also be responsible for managing mid-sized projects, multiple small size projects, as well as improving/enhancing the overall staff experience relating to our electronic medical records (Epic) software implementation. The Clinical analyst/project coordinator manages specific aspects of a project with direct accountability for project execution. They are also responsible for providing accurate budgeting estimates (within a pre-defined variance) and reporting budget usage through the completion of the project to the appropriate cost center manager. Finally, the clinical analyst/Project Coordinator is responsible for planning tasks associated with successful project completion, and for managing task execution according to a written project plan.
Accountabilities:
1. Using standard methodologies, tools, and project management software, develops and maintains project manager to establish performance goals, metrics, and project baselines.
2. Works with project manager to establish and maintain effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and contacts. Communicates project status to project manager or business owner through routine status reports and meetings.
3. Serves as a leader, facilitator and change agent in the design and implementation of new uses of the Epic application.
4. Collaborates with various departmental leaders, end users including physicians, IS staff and vendor implementation staff in design and implementation.
5. Initiates and maintains issues logs, taking responsibility for identifying and coordinating resolution of all technical and business issues.
6. Performs in-depth workflow analysis, data collection, report details or other technical issues
7. Recognizes the potential of the application to change and improve clinical workflows while maintaining or improving current practice standards relating to the software to understand application functionality.
8. Ensures that all project time is accounted for and that project and team member activities are routinely collected and reported in standard fashion.
9. Where appropriate, coordinates vendor activities to ensure project success.
10. Estimates staff resources success.
11. May act as project manager for mid-sized department level project with overall accountability for project success.
12. May serve as a project lead for a large size/strategic project reporting to a Senior Project Coordinator, or may simultaneously manage several small projects.
13. May evaluate team member performance at the direction of a Senior Project Coordinator may report team member progress and provide evaluation feedback at the request of the resource manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Management or related field. (Or equivalent experience).
2. Minimum 6 years experience in healthcare and/or information systems.
3. Cumulative minimum of 3 years project leadership and/or project management experience.
4. Demonstrated capability to manage projects with budgets less than $200,000
5. Demonstrated project management skills-ability to properly plan and execute on projects deliverable using various methodologies and the ABT Suite of project management software.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers and constituents at all levels of the organization.
8. Demonstrated analysis and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates will possess one or more of the following skills:
Health care IT or clinical experience
Experience with Epic or EMR
Experience with reporting tools including PLSQL or SQL
