We are currently seeking a clinic laboratory technical consultant to provide technical and scientific oversight for the clinics in their region. This is one of three technical consultants who are responsible for multiple sites, some including urgent care. The technical consultant works in collaboration with the clinic Care Delivery Supervisor (CDS) to coordinate technical staffing needs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Technical and scientific oversight of HealthPartners? Clinic Laboratories to ensure quality test performance.
? Selects test methodologies and instrumentation appropriate for clinical use.
? Verifies test procedures performed and establishes the laboratory?s performance criteria, including the accuracy and precision of each test and test system.
? Enrolls laboratory in an approved proficiency testing (PT) program commensurate with services offered. Documents, reviews and monitors PT results.
? Ensures instrument performance to include calibration, maintenance records, quality control and troubleshooting.
? Monitors, reviews, and documents quality control records. Resolves technical problems and ensures remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory?s established performance specifications.
? Identifies training needs and ensures testing personnel receive regular in-service training.
? Evaluates the competency of all testing personnel on an ongoing basis.
? Reviews patient test results on a daily basis.
? Establishes and monitors Quality Assurance protocols to improve laboratory processes.
? Implements and monitors ?Point of Care? testing within the clinic.
? Works in collaboration with the laboratory computer team on day to day operations and facilitates system enhancements and upgrades.
? Establishes and implements laboratory policies and procedures.
? Provides Quality Assurance and productivity reports to Laboratory Director as requested.
2. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory agencies including COLA/CLIA, OSHA and prepares for inspections as required.
3. Develops, monitors and manages the clinical laboratory budget(s); maintains monthly cost indicator reports as per required protocol.
4. Technical personnel management and development:
? Manages technical staffing schedule in collaboration with the CDS.
? Works with the CDS to establish and evaluate performance through appraisals and competency.
? Implements procedural, policy and computer changes, communicating appropriate information to laboratory personnel.
? Interviews and hires new technical staff in collaboration with the care delivery supervisor.
5. As a member of the HealthPartners? Lab Management Team, provides consultation and education to providers regarding laboratory procedures and utilization of lab services:
? Facilitates orientation for physicians, nursing staff and other clinic staff.
? Provides consultation to provider staff regarding laboratory procedures and policies.
? Works with medical staff to assure appropriate utilization of laboratory services.
6. Patient Service:

We are currently seeking an on-call Hospice Home Health Assistant to join HealthPartners Hospice and Palliative Care group. This position is responsible for assisting terminally ill patients in maintaining their personal care requirements, maximizing their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and achieving the highest level of comfort and quality of life in their home consistent with their health status.

Additional responsibilities:

1. Assist patients with personal and self-care skills in the home environment.
A. Assist with common personal hygiene and self-care requirements.
1. Bathing with or without assistance
2. Foot soaks
3. Shampoo
4. Combing/brushing, makeup, shaving, and fingernails as required.
B. Perform personal hygiene tasks clients are unable to perform without assistance.
1. Perform total bath requiring turning and repositioning.
2. Perform perineal care.
3. Perform skin care measures, e.g. application of topical ointments, as directed.
4. Provide for oral/teeth care.
C. Perform or assist the client in performing activities related to mobility ? passive range of motion, turning/repositioning, transfers, ambulation ? with the aid of another person or assistive equipment or devices as needed.
D. Perform routine observations and treatments as assigned by nurse and report results:
1. Take vital signs: temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
2. Do simple, non-sterile dressing changes.
3. Maintain routine bowel and bladder programs.
4. Do daily Foley catheter and condom care.
5. Do routine ostomy cares, e.g., changes ostomy collection bags.
6. Perform other procedures after direct instruction at the discretion of the nurse.
E. Perform or assist the patient in performing the normal activities of daily living such as eating and dressing.
F. Assist the patient in taking self-administered oral medications.
G. Use encounters with patients as an opportunity for psychosocial support to enhance morale, observe cognitive functions and observe for and maintain environmental safety.
H. Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain the patient?s level of function: prepare light meals, change bed linens, clean and straighten the patient?s immediate personal environment.

2. Report significant observations and changes in the patient?s condition to the nurse in a timely way.
3. Participate in care conferences during which patient care is planned or reviewed.
4. Document all patient-care activities as assigned by the nurse in a timely way according to departmental policies and procedures on the appropriate forms.
5. Maintain required statistical data.
6. Implement infection control and safety measures in patient care following departmental policies and procedures.
7. Demonstrate concern for quality assurance issues related to position responsibilities.
8. Uphold the rights of individual hospice patients and demonstrate a commitment to excellence of service.
9. Participate in education programs to maintain certification and enhance skill development.

This position requires:

? Certified as a home health aide or nursing assistant with a 75-hour program.
? Six months of successful previous experience as a home health aide or one year as a certified nursing assistant.
? Able to complete competency testing prior to employment.
? Current CPR certification upon hire or within six months of employment
? Current MN Driver?s License and daily access to reliable, insured vehicle.
? Computer literacy.
? Able and willing to drive a car in weather conditions typical of the upper Midwest
? Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Position Responsibilities
In partnership with Regions Behavioral Health Director of Nursing, the incumbent will be responsible for:
· Measuring and improving the quality of inpatient Behavioral Health care at Regions Hospital
· Improving patient/family satisfaction
· Improving BH patient flow
· Engaging staff at various levels and improving employee satisfaction
· Ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met (JCAHO, CMS, MN DHS, MN Dept. of Public Health)
· Developing, implementing and upholding inpatient mental health policies and procedures
· Customer service orientation
· Hovander/Safe House/Safe Alternatives
· ED and Crisis Services
· Oversight of BH case management
· Participate in planning for the new BH facility

Individually responsible for:
· Supervising and managing all inpatient psychiatrists
· Overseeing the Psychiatric Consultation & Liaison Service
· Establishing and maintaining inpatient psychiatric coverage (call, vacation, illness, CME, weekends and evenings)
· Supervision of inpatient psychiatric medical students/moonlighters/Advanced Practice Providers
· Attending all appropriate meetings (i.e., patient care)
· Championing efforts to effectively use inpatient resources and improve patient throughput
· Assisting in the facilitation and improvement of inpatient EPIC
· Willingness to become Division Head for Regions Hospital Behavioral Health, if chosen to do so
· Leading the implementation of BEST CARE/BEST EXPERIENCE on inpatient mental health
· Oversee psychiatric coverage of ED

In partnership with the Assistant Medical Director for Behavioral Health ? Outpatient Services, the incumbent will be responsible for:

This person will also carry out nursing tasks and medical orders as delegated by physicians and registered nurses to support patient care.

Required Qualifications:
1. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
2. Current LPN licensure in Minnesota
3. Current CPR certification required within 6 months of hire and maintain.
4. One-year full-time employment as a LPN preferred.
5. Demonstration of written and oral communication skills required.
6. Experience working with EPIC or other electronic medical record preferred

Job Duties:
1. A licensed practical nurse uses the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) under the supervision of an RN or physician in order to provide continuing healthcare to individuals, families and the community.
2. Identify common and recurring nursing needs of the patient.
3. Recognize the need for and perform routine office procedures and testing in the ambulatory care setting.
4. Assist patients to achieve basic health care goals.
5. Identify patient education needs, provide instruction and refer appropriately.
6. Document observations, actions and patient outcomes.

Schedule:
This is an on-call position and actual schedule and hours will vary depending on coverage needed. Must be flexible and available Monday ? Friday daytime hours.
